Therapeutic Approaches I Draw From...
Brief Solution-Focused Therapy
Brief Solution-Focused Therapy centers on our strengths and what’s already working, rather than focusing on problems. It helps us imagine our preferred future and take small, practical steps to move toward it.
AEDP is a gentle, emotion-focused therapy that helps us feel safe enough to explore difficult emotions and past experiences. Through attuned connection, healing happens in real time—often through new emotional experiences.
Narrative Therapy
Narrative therapy helps us explore the stories we tell about ourselves, often shaped by life events or others’ expectations. Through collaboration, alternative stories are realized that reflect our strengths, values, and hopes.
Nonviolent Communication (NVC)
NVC helps us improve the way we relate to ourselves and others through empathy and honest expression. It fosters an understanding of emotions and needs which support establishing healthy boundaries, deep listening, and mutual understanding in communication.
Unified Protocol (CBT for Emotional and Eating Disorders)
The Unified Protocol is a Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) approach that helps people make sense of strong emotions by exploring how their thoughts, physical sensations, and behaviors are linked. It supports learning new ways to respond to emotions with more flexibility and confidence.
Somatic Awareness
Somatic awareness invites us to gently tune into our body’s sensations, which help us to understand how emotion lives in our body. By learning to notice and stay with these signals, we can support emotional regulation, release, and healing.
Polyvagal Theory
Polyvagal Theory helps us to understand how our nervous system responds to safety, stress, and disconnection. Through awareness and regulation, we can begin to feel more grounded and connected in daily life.
